The Team Lead of manufacturing is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the assembly area, ensuring efficiency, quality control, safety standards, and effective team collaboration. The Team Lead acts as a liaison between management and assemblers, coordinate tasks, troubleshoot issues and drives productivity improvements. This role requires hands-on leadership representing the production team at the Zone Control and Fast Response meetings to escalate production issues and deploy shifts based on site priorities and goals. This role reports to the Supervisor of Manufacturing.

What You'll Be Doing

Team Leadership: First line leader for the assembly team with a hands-on collaboration as needed.

Assign assemblers day-to-day tasks/jobs in accordance with business needs, training matrix restrictions, and job rotation requirements

Attending daily meetings (Zone Control and Fast Response) to speak on issues in production that need support

Lead Sunup and Sundown meetings with production team
-
Enforce EHS and safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.

Act as the Assembly floater, filling production gaps where necessary due to absenteeism or increased production demand.

Communication: Foster effective communication between various departments including Logistics, Commercial, Procurement, and Quality, among others, to ensure alignment with production goals

Inventory & Materials Management: Ensure proper use of materials and resources to avoid waste and maintain inventory control.

Ensure assembly materials are in correct picking locations to allow proper flow of materials through system(s) and timely shipment of material

Execute and confirm transfer orders
-
Physically moving parts as necessary to ensure system accuracy to reality and refill picking bins when empty and/or alert buyers of empty bins

Cycle Counting: Plan, execute, and maintain the cycle counting program for the production area in accordance with financial requirements and usage history

Perform daily cycle counts in potentially multiple ERPs

Perform ad hoc cycle counts as needed by members of the Supply Chain team

Report out daily cycle count accuracy and work with the team to troubleshoot root causes

Oversight of cycle counting primarily for the production area

Coordinate and provide support and collaboration to the Logistics and Supply Chain teams to manage supply needs. Quality Control: Execute systemic and physical inventory moves when necessary for quality control reasons

Moving material to Quality hold and MRB when product is on a hold and back to inventory when product is released from Quality

Scrapping out product scrapped by the production team Reporting and Documentation:
-
Maintain accurate records of production activities, including downtime, output, and quality metrics.

Prepare regular reports on management on production, inventory of materials, cycle counts, and performance issues. Continuous Improvement:

Participate in Problem Solving Workshops, Kaizens, and other Continuous Improvement Events – especially when focused on the production area

Collaborate with the Supervisor and other areas (e.g., Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, CI Manager) in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance productivity, efficiency and quality. Other duties as assigned
What You'll Bring

HS Diploma or GED equivalent required.
-
2 years of experience in manufacturing operations required & 2 or more years in a leadership role desired.

Detailed oriented with a strong focus in following processes.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Independent working professional, highly organized, efficient, and self-motivated in a high paced, reactive, and ever-changing environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Flexibility in adjusting and adapting to shifting priorities and demands

Proficiency using Microsoft 365 based computer skills preferred – primarily Microsoft Excel.

Basic knowledge of ERP System such as MAS or SAP preferred.
Physical Requirements

Walk through the production and/or warehouse areas, when needed.

Able to drive forklift and move/carry material up to 25 lbs.
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $46,400 - $60,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
