In the context of our Climate Finance business line, we are aiming to further expand our investment activities in Latin America.

In this regard, we are looking for a talented and dynamic professional for the function of a:

Senior Investment Officer, Climate Finance - Latin America

The role consists of the mandate to (1) originate and structure debt transactions in climate infrastructure investments and (2) to contribute to further develop our investment strategy for Latin America.

The role is ideal for a candidate with strong technical, business development and leadership skills, with a broad existing network in the region as well as a strategic mindset.

Your Main Tasks

• Active contribution to the growth of responsAbility´s Climate Finance portfolio by building a strong pipeline of investment opportunities in renewable energy generation, energy efficiency and electric mobility in LATAM.
• End to end deal execution from origination to due diligence, financial modelling, credit appraisal and legal documentation.
• Structuring and negotiating transactions using different types of debt instruments, in line with the risk/return expectations of responsAbility-managed funds.
• Drafting and presenting investment proposals to the relevant investment decision bodies.
• Lead/contribute to the further development of our investment strategy for LATAM and actively working on the implementation of such strategy, in close collaboration with relevant team members and partners.
• Playing an active role in fundraising of future climate fund initiatives together with responsAbility’s Relationship Management Team.
• Representing the company at conferences, seminars and other relevant events in the regions as required.
• Liaising with teams located in Zurich, Nairobi, Tbilisi and Mumbai.

Your Experience and Skills

• Post Graduate degree in economics, business administration, finance, or a related field from a top institution or a comparable training and education
• 8+ years of investment experience in the energy / climate finance space.
• Fund structuring & management experience; fundraising experience is considered a plus
• Proven deal experience in small-scale renewable energy, distributed energy and/or energy efficiency sectors, demonstrated through structured debt or equity deal references
• Strong network among climate technology focused companies across Latin America
• Proven business development and relationship management skills with a strong, existing network, willingness and ability to travel frequently across the region.
• Proficient analytical, writing and presentation skills.
• Excellent English and Spanish language skills, knowledge of Portuguese is welcome.
• Passionate about climate finance and impact investments; enjoys working with, and easily adapts to, different cultures
