Our client in a global trading company based in Geneva.
Description
- Supporting the Finance Group Co-Controller in reviewing and monitoring key financial movements to ensure accuracy and completeness in the Group's financial statements
- Preparing certain areas of the Group financial statements under IFRS, including related disclosures
- Keeping up-to-date with technical accounting standards to ensure all reporting requirements are met and properly implemented, including the introduction of new policies and procedures as needed
- Conducting analytical reviews of the Group's balance sheet and profit & loss accounts
- Participating in the monthly and year-end closing processes for the Group
- Assisting in annual audit preparations and participation
- Reviewing standalone financial statements (IFRS, Swiss CO, or other standards)
- Contributing to the continuous development and improvement of financial reporting processes to ensure the timely and accurate provision of financial data
- Collaborating with team members locally and internationally when necessary
- Assisting with ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests from senior management
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager
Profile
- Master's degree in accounting, finance, or control, with an advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., Swiss CPA or equivalent) preferred
- 4-5 years of experience in accounting, auditing, controlling, or consolidation, ideally within a Big 4, commodity trading, or integrated oil & gas company
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel modeling, with great attention to detail
- Solid knowledge of IFRS, consolidation processes, and intercompany eliminations
- Entrepreneurial drive, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as within a team
- High level of ownership, results-driven, proactive, flexible, and committed
- Ability to meet tight deadlines during closing and reporting periods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders
- Full proficiency in English, both written and spoken, in a business context.
