Job Description
P&G is seeking a PhD intern skilled in computer science and software design. Join our P&G Grooming Global Product Stewardship team where we are committed to ensuring the highest safety standards for our grooming products. The key objective of this role will be to innovate, design, and deliver a software tool to enable automated exposure assessment for materials in articles or assembled products, such as razors.
In this role, you will:
- Review current safety assessment processes/tools, P&G database structure and existing codes to integrate new functionalities into the current safety assessment software platform.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams across multiple sites bridging data science and human safety toxicology specialty fields.
- Deliver a workable, scalable software tool for the automated safety assessment of razors.
The position will be based out of Boston, MA (preferred) or Mason, OH.
Job Qualifications
PhD candidate in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related fields preferred. Mathematics, Physics or Life Sciences (Toxicology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Risk Assessment) possible depending on the available skills.
- Skills and proven experience in the following areas: Python, SQL, CSS, JAVA, machine learning, data-base management, and data science.
- Attention to detail with the ability to understand existing code, write new scalable code, test and debug applications, integrate user-facing elements, assess and prioritize client feature requests, and coordinate with front-end developers.
- Strong ownership & self-leadership skills to understand the business objective and technical problem to be solved.
- Outstanding interpersonal communication and comprehension skills to collaborate with technical specialists from diverse scientific backgrounds.
- Highly motivated, self starting, and hard-working to work as part of a distributed team with a growth-mindset to continually improve.
