Your Role at Baxter
This is where your sales training leads to sales success!
As a Sales Training Manager, you will be part of a team of professional trainers responsible for developing and delivering content and tools to train sales professionals on product, selling skills, healthcare market and clinical content areas. You will develop and deliver content via multiple media (self-paced, in-person, live virtual) and have the opportunity to collaborate across the sales training team, as well as with marketing and sales leadership.
Successful candidates will have previous field sales experience of hospital capital equipment or healthcare technology, and knowledge of sales methodologies balanced with a passion for crafting training content, promoting curriculum, delivering training and coaching. The result will be the improvement and the efficiency and velocity of Baxter Care Solution’s 400+ person sales organization, particularly in the new environment of selling virtually as well as in person. You will work closely with senior leaders in Sales, Marketing, Sales Operations and Human Resources, and will be assigned either sales specialties and/or product focus areas to create and deliver sophisticated clinical and digital solutions training.
What you'll be doing
- Identifying strategic training needs and creating, then implementing core learning deliverables and experiences that are viewed as key requirements to help the sales teams meet and exceed business initiatives
- Providing an“end-to-end” approach during the creation of assigned learning experiences based on progressive learning and development frameworks
- Providing inputs and insights into technology platforms to benefit training the sales organization and customers
- Able to prioritize multiple programs/projects. Ability to deliver quickly on multiple objectives
- Engage relevant business unit partners to assist in the development of training content, use consulting skills while working with sales leadership to identify training needs/objectives
- Create, present, and continuously update business unit leaders on training approaches to be implemented with the sales organization
- Ensure agreement to the training vision from business unit partners
Program Management:
- Create program schedules for all training programs to ensure on time and effective delivery
- Run multiple training programs at any given time, ensuring progression and successful completion of all deliverables
- Track and report progress against schedules and training initiatives. Identify risks, issues, and propose solutions
- Create and communicate training metrics, with proposed improvements recommendations
- Effectively train employees or business partners on Baxter Care Solutions processes, services, and products in order to achieve sales growth
- Develop opportunities to enhance new hire skill development and knowledge using the learning management system and virtual learning tools
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree required with a focus in education, business, marketing or instructional design related field preferred
- 8+ years combined field sales and sales training experience preferred. Medical device, hospital capital equipment, medical device technology, healthcare IT strongly preferred
- Knowledge of sales methodologies for hospital capital equipment products and solutions preferred.
- Ability to establish strategic direction and drive execution
- Experience with Content Authoring tools, Captivate, Articulate or Brainshark
- Some experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Strong use of virtual meeting and rep engagement platforms Teams/Brainshark to deliver virtual coaching
- Analytical skills, general eye for business, exceptional communication, group interaction and facilitation skill
- Travel Expectations: Remote role with up to 40% (At least 1 full week per month, including travel on Sundays) national travel to support new hire onboarding, regional and national meetings and other training & enablement needs as identified.
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $112,000 to $154,000 plus an annual incentive bonus. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
