Your responsibilities
Human and social factors play a key role in privacy. For instance, individuals’ privacy is affected by the actions of their contacts. Also, individuals are influenced by their own past experience and by their contacts when making privacy-related decisions. This is particularly true and important for emerging technologies and services, such as those related to the quantified self, online social networks, and the Internet of Things. The goal of this research is to study the human and social aspects of privacy with a special focus on emerging technologies and services. To do so, the successful candidates may have to interact/collaborate with researchers from the medicine and/or law, while focusing on the core computer-science/information-system aspects of privacy.
At least 50% of your time will be dedicated to conducting scientific research for the doctoral thesis.
The rest will be devoted to participating in the teaching and administration activities conducted in the lab.
The successful candidates are expected to enroll in the doctoral school in Information Systems and will be supervised by Prof. Kévin Huguenin.
