Job Description Summary
For Grid Solutions, Offshore HVDC represents a significant pilar for the business, at Grid System Integration (GSI) we are dedicated to help our customers reach very ambitious renewable energy targets through delivery of our HVDC Solutions.
In this context, Grid Solutions is looking for a Project Director who will be responsible for project on-time delivery, profit & loss accountability, and customer satisfaction from the last stages of tendering, though handover to execution and up to receipt of the Provisional Acceptance Certificate (PAC).
The Project Director will provide leadership to strategically manage risks & opportunities and ensure that the project follows high standards in terms of quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements. The Project Director will coordinate with the consortium partner, to ensure a smooth delivery of the consortium scope for the customer.

Responsibilities:
Manage the Execution phase for the GE scope of a large HVDC Project, typically of $500M minimum
Deliver on Environmental Health & Safety (‘EHS’), On-Time-Delivery (‘OTD’) and financial objectives (sales, margin, billing, cash) for the GE scope.
Ensure Project Reviews governance in line GE Grid Solutions Operating rhythm
Lead & coach a multi-cultural cross-functional project team composed of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Project Controls (cost & planning), Finance, Contract Management.

Will have full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility for the project and drive budget ownership with accountability throughout the project team.
Project Execution Strategy: Based on the contract, develop and implement the overall strategy for the execution of the project to achieve the project performance goals.
Communication: represents GE towards the customer; controls and manages this interface and relationship. Manages the internal and external communication loop.
Project Organization: Sets up and secures the necessary resources for the execution of the project. Support the organization of the project team. Coordinate with consortium partner.
Performance Management: Constantly monitors and if requested reports the necessary key performances indicators (KPI). Takes immediately all necessary actions and decisions to guarantee financial, time, quality and safety performance to maximize project goals achievements.
Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Management: Establishes, implements, and monitors the Project Quality Plan, Procedures, EHS Plan. Ensures best compliance with specification at lowest final cost.
Claim Management: define the strategy for managing claims and directs actions accordingly. Addresses claims by deciding on actions and leading them in consideration of the defined strategy.
Risk and Opportunities: Defines a Risk Management Plan. Constantly updates and reviews the risk and opportunities of the Project. Evaluates and decides on actions that benefit the overall performance of the Project. Follows-up these actions implementation and results.
Project Planning: Develops and monitors the Master Time Schedule, manages Project float to ensure timely completion of the Project
Exercise commercial and finance controls during the execution of the project with regular reporting and forecasting of project metrics and KPIs
Ensure the coordination of technical support/engineering, manufacturing/supply and onsite construction resources.
Comply with Quality Procedures, work instructions and Processes at GSI level including but not limited to the Project Management Handbook (PMH).
Report or resolve any non-conformances to process in a timely manner and use Lessons Learnt process and database as a way to leant from and further record return of experience to benefit other projects.
Consortium management: Lead the project consortium, set up a regular operating rhythm and governance with our partner to meet the project contractual requirements. Front communication to the customer on behalf of the consortium, building a strong collaboration and relationship with our chosen partner. Align with partner on Key targets and metrics to be able to monitor and assess performance throughout the project lifetime.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college. Preferably a Master’s degree.
Minimum of 15 years in managing large and complex turnkey projects (+$500M minimum), preferably in the T&D, Power or Renewable Energy industry.
Minimum of 15 years in Operations / Project Portfolio management experience (EPC projects).
Able and willing to travel 25% including international and comply with GE travel guidelines.

Proven ability, knowledge and experience covering the full project management cycle: integration management, planning, cost control, procurement, risk management, contract management, construction management…
Technical knowledge in electrical grids and ideally power electronics / HVDC will be an advantage
Experience in Turnkey / offshore contracts with civil works would also be an advantage
High-energy, self-motivated, confident leader willing to take decisions and lead the project team by example
Strong attention to details and technicalities and ability to contribute to issue resolution.
The salary range for this position is 170,300.00 - 227,000.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus. 170,300.00 - 227,000.00 - 283,800.00 USD Annual
