Context & mission

MSF, including MSF Operational Center Geneva (OCG), has grown significantly over the last 10 years and until now the HR department has managed that expansion with ad-hoc tools and methods.
To better support the ongoing demands and better serve our global workforce, OCG has launched a transformative HR initiative with one critical pillar being the introduction of an HR Information System (HRIS).
Joining a dynamic team of HR professionals, the HRIS Integration Engineer will develop the system integrations between HR Applications, in particular from and to Workday, our new HR solution.
In a Microsoft technical environment (Azure, Fabrics, Master Data Services), they will engineer system integrations based on the recommended architecture, solution design and technical specifications. The incumbent will collaborate with our IT Solution Architect, IT Business Analysts, Data Analysts, Testing team and our Workday consultants to produce robust solutions that enable data sharing between HRIS component, Integration Layer and peripheral systems. The Integration Engineer will report to the IT Project Manager.

Tasks & Responsibilities
As the HRIS Integration Engineer, your role is pivotal in optimizing our human resources information systems and end-to-end services to support the delivery of HRIS solutions encompassing the deployment of a new HR solution (Workday) loaded with HR data (current and historical), inbound and outbound integrations.
You will analyze business requirements and ensure that implemented integrations (services and workflows) are effectively integrated into current HR technology ecosystem. You will ensure that the technology solutions delivered are aligned to enterprise strategies and adhere to target reference architectures by applying sound principles & best practices.
Main responsibilities of HRIS Integration Engineer are the following:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and integration requirements and priorities

Elaborate and follow integration engineering design guidelines and standards in collaboration with MSF IT team and HRIS solution architect.

Develop and unit test integration of data across the relevant systems to ensure data consistency and accuracy, timeliness of the integration.

Develop and maintain deployment pipelines.

Responsible for supporting and maintaining HRIS Cloud-native Integration platform (based on Microsoft technology stack) and integrated components on test and production environments.

Create documentation for hand-over to operational technical teams.

Cultivate collaborative relationships with our IT Solution Architect, IT Business Analysts, Data Analysintegrations basednd our Workday consultants.

Engage with HRIS solution architects and MSF Infrastructure Architect for design collaboration and review.

Support and participate to the program’s testing activities (technical run-through of solutions, explain expected behaviour of the technical solution, fixing of bugs etc)

Raise data quality issue with the team for prioritization and resolution in the context of system integration, recognise patterns and make recommendations to the team.

Communicate on progress of delivery, risks, blockers with the IT Project Manager and the technical team for resolution and guidance.
Your profile
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar relevant degree

Relevant Microsoft Certifications
Experience
-
5-10 years of previous working experience as an Integration Engineer
-
Proven track record in system integration and analysis
-
Working experience and knowledge of Microsoft Cloud-native Integration and Data platforms (Azure, Azure Data Factory, API Management, Fabrics, Master Data Services, Data Verse etc). Ideally, Power Automate as well.

Has contributed to an end-to-end vision for the system integrations across various applications across a given landscape (ideally HR data integrated with Active Directory, payroll, and other consumers of HR data) as part of a transformation program.

Nice to have: knowledge of HR applications.
Languages

English and French are the working languages of MSF Switzerland. Fluency in both English and French is required for this position (oral and written).

Knowledge and experience of XML related technologies (XML, XSD, XPATH, XSLT)

Knowledge and experience with CI/CD processes and tools

Knowledge of delivery and information management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, Diagramming, SharePoint)

Experience with event-driven Architecture and Microservices will be considered a plus.

Terms of employment

Full-time position 100% (40h/week)

Fixed-term contract, 14 months.

Ideal start date: May 2025

Gross monthly salary (for 100%): from CHF 7’870.- to CHF 9’029.- (paid in 12 instalments; salary commensurate with equivalent experience and internal salary grid).

Paid vacation: 25 days per year, prorate temporis, plus any Swiss public holidays falling within the contract period.

Pension plan: pension contribution covered 3/4 by MSF, 1/4 by staff member.

Relocation package if moving from a different country to Switzerland.
