The Trade and Investment team, within the Centre for Regions, Trade & Geopolitics, fosters structured dialogue to address challenges and seize opportunities in resilient, sustainable, and inclusive trade. Through the TradeTech Global Initiative, the Forum promotes collaboration among policymakers, investors, and technology pioneers to integrate cutting-edge innovations into global trade frameworks.
Position Summary
The Solutions Lead, TradeTech will play a critical role in advancing the application of Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies in global trade. The incumbent will work closely with the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution and a diverse group of stakeholders to develop solutions that enhance trade resilience, facilitate trade flows, and promote sustainable value chains.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Analysis: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify opportunities for innovation and growth within TradeTech.
- Solution Development: Lead the ideation, selection, and implementation of TradeTech solutions through stakeholder collaboration and user-centric design methodologies.
- Project Management: Oversee TradeTech initiatives, including budget management, timeline execution, and cross-functional coordination to achieve measurable outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong networks with startups, investors, and industry leaders to foster collaboration and drive impactful solutions.
- Market and Trend Analysis: Analyze global trade flows, supply chain dynamics, and technological trends to identify strategic opportunities for reform.
- Facilitation and Coordination: Organize and lead meetings, workshops, and discussions to align stakeholders and ensure the successful execution of initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- A master's degree in business administration, international trade, technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of six years of experience in trade-related fields such as customs, supply chains, trade finance, or startup investments.
- Demonstrated expertise in venture engagement, business consulting, startup ecosystems, or innovation management.
- In-depth knowledge of global trade operations, logistics, trade finance, and emerging technologies.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Willingness to travel internationally and work across time zones.
- Experience working in the Middle East or familiarity with the region’s business environment is considered an advantage.
