Position Summary
We are looking for a Group Leader Contract Management, who will be responsible for managing a team of scientific contract managers and analysts. In this role, you will act as a strategic business partner to the Leadership Team, enabling the unit's R&D objectives through value added partnerships. The R&D Contract Management Group plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the contractual aspects of research and development projects. This dynamic position offers a unique opportunity to delve into the exciting world of innovation and witness firsthand the strategic direction of our R&D initiatives. Collaborating closely with the leadership team and the cross-functional teams, you will ensure the smooth execution of contracts, negotiate favorable terms, and mitigate risks associated with R&D collaborations. By actively engaging with our talented researchers and scientists, you will gain insights into cutting-edge technologies, breakthrough product developments, and the future of the food and beverage industry. A Day in the Life of a Group Leader Contract Management
- Manage a team of contract management professionals, effectively prioritize resources, and manage the development of each team member
- Handle requests for external scientific contracts, such as clinical trials, consultancy, collaboration, confidentiality, material transfer, research agreements, and R&D services
- Advise and support contract requestors, Group/Department Leaders, and Institute Heads on contractual matters
- Assist contract requestors in creating, issuing, and negotiating scientific contracts
- Leading role in strategic planning for contract management, spearheading the development of contract strategies that align with the specific requirements of the R&D organization Effective risk management
- Effectively drive complex and high-value contract negotiations with the external partners
- Support contract lifecycle of monitoring, from initiation to execution and renewal
- Act as the liaison between the research organization and R&D Legal counsels
What will make you successful
- Degree in Sciences, with legal training being a plus
- Solid experience in a contract management role
- Previous experience in people management is a requirement
- Familiarity with R&D contracts and proven ability to negotiate and analyze risk profiles while aligning with commercial objectives and Intellectual Property strategy
- Sound understanding of Intellectual Property rights, including patents, and their significance in a commercial R&D context
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluent in English
