General description of the position:
The Marketing, Communications & Advancement Associate is a full-time position that reports directly to the Director of Institutional Advancement. This position will assist with all aspects of advancement at Leysin American School in Switzerland, including but not limited to:

Create engaging written content for use across all channels that is reflective of LAS’s dynamic programs, activities, and events, and captures the essence of life and learning at LAS

Create engaging written content for COMMUNICATION purposes (newsletters, emails, family platform, website, publications, etc.)

Create engaging written content for ADVANCEMENT (campaigns, appeals, publications, emails, newsletters, magazine, etc.)

Create engaging written content for MARKETING purposes (website, social media, blogs, articles, publications, etc.)

Develop content to support fundraising campaigns and donor engagement initiatives that align with the school's strategic plans

Communicate with donors about the annual fund and LAS campaigns

Collaborate on a content calendar for marketing, communications, and advancement channels
-
Execute marketing and outreach strategies following a comprehensive communications plan
-
Website maintenance (Finalsite experience preferred), manage and update content on the LAS website, as well as work on SEO
-
Email list maintenance (Mailchimp experience preferred)

Graphic design and photo editing for internal and external audiences
-
Some photo and video content capture and editing
-
Work collaboratively on social media platforms (including Twitter, LinkedIn, et cetera)

Create materials for and maintain campus digital signage
-
Help manage the production of materials, including coordination with outside vendors, quality control, compliance with school and industry standards, and expense control

Support on and off-campus events

Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Institutional Advancement

Residential life duty and work with students in the dormitories
The ideal candidate loves producing compelling written content (a love of and interest in writing is essential), appreciates the fast-paced nature of boarding school life, and wants to attend, cover, and participate in events. The ideal candidate should be comfortable in a group setting and likes to engage with constituents of all ages, from donors to prospective families and students.. Qualifications and Requirements:

Fluent English speaker (additional languages a plus)

Strong attention to detail and communication skills

Experience in producing written marketing and communications content is a must, and writing samples are required)

Experience in producing written advancement/fundraising content is preferred

Experience with website management (Finalsite preferred)

Photo and video capture/editing experience a plus, but not required
-
Boarding school or residential program experience is a plus, but not required

Swiss/EU citizenship or valid Swiss work permit is preferred, but not required (please know that if you are not Swiss/EU, you may be required to have an advanced degree or several years of experience in the field)

Clean criminal background check

Outgoing, positive attitude and a willingness to attend and cover events

Ski/snowboard/hiking/outdoor experience and interest a plus, but not required

French a plus, but not required
Additional responsibilities:

Contract:
This is a full-year position (summer work required), and the contract begins in summer 2025.
