The Department of Clinical Research (DCR) is an academic center and umbrella organization supporting clinical researchers at the University of Bern and the University Hospitals consisting of strong Research Units, the Clinical Trial Unit (CTU), the Clinical Investigation Unit (CIU), and two new subunits in 2025, a Medical Data Science Unit and a Gender Medicine Unit.
DCR is a diverse department that provides central organization for expertise, innovation, leadership, contemporary pedagogy, and centralized facilities for supporting clinical researchers. DCR offers clinical researchers full support from study design to study implementation. DCR works across multiple collaborations with the Medical Faculty of the University of Bern and the University Hospitals.
We are looking for a Clinical Data Manager.
- Planning and programming of standardized and study-specific reports in R
- Support in setting up and testing study databases in our web-based clinical data management systems REDCap and secuTrial
- Developing scripts for data management- specific processes (e.g. data migrations, data imports, shiny dashboards, visualizations, development of R packages)
- Reporting-specific project management, including the creation of cost estimates, budget control and monitoring of project-specific timelines
- Consulting of clinical researchers
- Contribution to courses for researchers
Requirements
- Degree in natural sciences or health sciences (biomedicine, data science, psychology, life science) or a related field
- Experience in cleaning and visualising data in R, experience with SQL is an advantage
- Knowledge of clinical research and data collection systems (preferably REDCap, secuTrial)
- Thrives in managing diverse tasks and handling a high project workload, with independent and well-organized project management skills.
- Excellent English and good German language skills (working language: English)
