We are looking for a flexible, enthusiastic and highly motivated postdoctoral scientist to join our international and dynamic team to work on the project: “Deciphering mycoplasma-host interactions using synthetic genomics”. Earliest starting date is April 2025.
Our lab works on host-pathogen interaction of pathogenic mycoplasmas, which are minimalistic, cell wall-deficient bacteria. A better understanding of host-pathogen interactions driving pathogenicity is the aim of the project. We focus our activities on Mycoplasma mycoides, a deadly goat pathogen.
The aim is to pinpoint mycoplasma virulence traits and to get mechanistic insights into Host-pathogen interactions.
Responsibilities
- Manipulation of the Mycoplasma mycoides genome using synthetic genomics
- Supervision of staff
- Assistance in resource mobilization
Requirements
- A PhD degree in the field of microbiology, biochemistry or immunology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
