Here’s what you’ll do:
Payroll Tax Specialist is responsible for compiling and remitting federal and state tax obligations that are not managed by our payroll tax vendors (ADP and OSV) and maintaining the payroll tax rates in Workday for all legal entities of Group Carl Zeiss in North America (~4000 employees.) This role will also assist in the audit and validation of the accuracy of our vendors’ filling. This role will demonstrate knowledge of payroll tax and compliance.
The position will Assist in developing payroll tax strategy for North America, drive projects to ensure harmonization, investigate Tax notices and partner with Payroll Vendors to resolve open claims.
- Timely and accurate remittance of Federal, State, and Local payroll taxes for US entities doing business in multiple states and localities to third-party vendor
- Assist with Jurisdiction setup with the completion and registration of all applicable forms with the state, local agencies not managed by payroll vender.
- Assist with the accuracy and integrity of the data provided to third-party vendor.
- Monitor tax changes and compliance ordinances to stay relevant.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed.
- Analyze and interpret financial data for tax reporting.
- Maintain both ADP & OSV on-line tax portals.
- Maintain All Entities On-line State & Local Portals login data.
- Manage all State & Local on-line Payments not Paid by 3rd party vendor.
- The secondary duty of the role is to be able to backfill the payroll processing team when needed and support NDT-TESTING.
Do you qualify?
- Payroll / accounting experience (preferred not required).
- Minimum Education High School Diploma (Degree preferred not required)
- At least 6 Months -1 year of relevant experience in U.S. and global payroll Tax at complex global organization Workday experience, (preferred not required)
- Minimum 6 months -1 year of payroll experience in a large payroll operation with multi-state and multi-national population.
- Strong project management experience including the ability to manage project plans, dependencies, critical path activities and milestones,
- Experience in Workday, a plus,
- Significant experience in excel, including advanced knowledge of VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables.
- Knowledge of general accounting practices (e.g., journal entries, general ledger reporting)
The annual pay range for this position is $53,000 – $65,000
The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
