The opportunity
We are expanding our Enhanced Corporate Accounting and Reporting (ECRA) solution and seeking a Senior Manager in Zurich/Basel to assist the Global FAAS ECRA leader. The role involves strategy development, initiative leadership, and crafting client solutions. The candidate will build their own client base across various sectors, tackle complex accounting challenges, and offer related services. Responsibilities include leading projects on GAAP conversions, new standard implementation, sustainability reporting, accounting policy, and managed services, with a focus on innovative client support.
Your key responsibilities
- Support Global initiatives related to FAAS ECRA solutions and report to Global Solution leader in defining goals, KPIs and milestones to measure success. Identify existing challenges and provide feasible solution to teams across Globe.
- Define and execute a program management approach for all initiatives in Global ECRA, also define milestones and KPIs for each market.
- Measure success of Global Accounting and reporting solutions every year and identify the strategy for 2-3 years.
- Collaborate with Market leaders in different part of the Globe and build a community of practice for matters that require strategic alignment.
- Manage Global investment needs, usage and results that can reflect success for Global ECRA as Governing body.
- Collaborate with the EY FAAS leadership in Switzerland to develop and execute on strategies for individual clients to satisfy high client expectations.
- Identify opportunities in the filed of accounting and reporting and helping clients in Switzerland to optimize their accounting and finance functions.
- Work with other service lines and subject matter experts in providing an integrated service delivery model across functions in an international team to meet our clients’ high expectations.
- Be responsible for managing and delivering IFRS type FAAS projects and contribute to the growth of the FAAS.
- Ensure everyone on the team fully understands the client's business needs and expectations to develop client deliverables that are client-focused, clear, accurate and well-presented.
- Ensure work is delivered in a timely manner and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Engage and develop new opportunities related to new FAAS projects, solutions, and relationships.
Skills and attributes for success
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferred in Accounting/Finance), complemented with completed further relevant professional education (e.g., US CPA, Swiss CPA, ACCA, CFA, CA).
- Similar experiences from past or capabilities that demonstrate strategic mindset and agility while interacting with Regional and Global leadership.
- Experience in developing strategies for businesses and solution that drive growth agenda.
- 10 to 12 years of experience in audit or consulting with a focus on US GAAP, IFRS, PCAOB, SOX, SEC, and US capital market transactions.
- Experience in leading multi-country projects, handling teams across different time-zones.
- Proven experience with most senior leadership in current organisation.
- IFRS knowledge required, and US GAAP knowledge is a plus to support GAAP conversion projects.
- Technical understanding of complex issues in the filed of accounting and reporting, dealt complex accounting matters, providing recommendations to the clients and discussing those with the audit team.
- A proven record of excellence in project leadership, specifically when managing, mentoring and improving a team of high-performing individuals.
- Strong technical writing skills and advanced risk management knowledge.
- Proactive, flexible and team-oriented from concept and design to implementation of projects. Intellectual curiosity and willingness to go “the extra mile”.
- Ability to build your relevant internal and external networks in a fast-paced and international environment investing in sustainable relationships.
- Very good English skills (speaking and writing) is a prerequisite, German and French are a plus.
