Position and Responsibilities

As a Senior Accountant, your core mission is to maintain the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our financial data. Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager, you will be instrumental in supporting the company's growth and our strategic initiatives beyond traditional business models. This position is based in our Headquarters in Lausanne.

The major responsibilities include:

  • Financial Management: Oversee all accounting operations, including AR, AP, bank reconciliations, cash management, fixed assets, inventory and trial balance.
  • Reporting: Coordinate the accounting department’s month-end close activities to meet corporate accounting and reporting deadlines. Prepare Financial Statements (BS, IS and CF) for all entity of the group.
  • Data Accuracy: Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial data management.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures, check that controls are carried out by the accounting department in accordance with the internal control system. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations, including local GAAP and tax laws. . Manage Swiss VAT & Tax submissions for multiple entities.
  • Audit Coordination: Work closely with external auditors to facilitate both interim and year-end audits, including the finalization of financial statements for the group.
  • Process Improvement: Be an active player on implementation of accounting systems and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Take on ad-hoc duties as needed to support the department and company goals. Provide strategic financial guidance and analysis to support decision-making processes and business objectives. Mentor accounting staff, providing guidance on accounting best practices.

Key competencies

  • Strong proficiency in preparing and analysing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is essential for senior accountants.
  • Expertise in tax laws and regulations relevant to Swiss jurisdiction.
  • Experience in coordinating and participating in internal and external audits to verify compliance and identify areas for improvement.

Education and Experience

  • Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
  • Certification: Swiss CPA or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Proficiency in accounting software experience (Microsoft Dynamics Nav version 2018 and higher) and Microsoft Excel is advantageous.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and integrity.
  • Language: Fluency in English and French is essential.
  • Experience in working in a fast paced and multicultural corporate environment.
