L'Association LE FOYER, reconnue d'utilité publique à but non lucratif, gère à Lausanne quatre établissements :
- un centre éducatif avec home et ateliers, destiné à la prise en considération permanente de personnes aveugles ou malvoyantes intellectuellement handicapées, sans distinction d'âge, de sexe, d'origine ou de confession (LE FOYER)
- une école pour enfants atteints d'autisme (EEAA)
- une structure pour adolescents atteints d'autisme (STRADA)
- une structure d'accueil temporaire pour enfants et adolescents atteints d'autisme (SAT)
Sa mission est de fournir les structures et moyens adéquats permettant le développement maximal des capacités, l’épanouissement de la personnalité et l’intégration dans le monde environnant des personnes accueillies. Elle dispense à cet effet une pédagogie et une éducation spécialisées et favorise la pratique d’activités professionnelles et de développement personnel.
