Advanced Silicon SA

Advanced Silicon is a fabless chip design company developing and delivering mixed-mode Integrated Circuits (ICs) for standard and specific applications (ASSPs, ASICs). We develop SOCs dedicated to medical imaging applications and touch screens. Our advanced IC technology enables optimized cutting-edge photon detectors and interactive displays with outstanding performance.

Our background

In year 2000, Advanced Silicon was incubated at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) with a strong IP and design capabilities in integrated circuits (ICs) for digital flat panel imagers with high-voltage drivers and ultra low-noise sensing ICs. Through a strategic partnership with Weida Hitech in Taiwan, we have a well-established production network for the supply of full turnkey IC solutions.

The company has an extended experience in the development of high-performance mixed signal circuits for Medical, Aerospace, Industrial and Consumer market segments. We deliver products for application fields requiring flat panel imagers with high-sensitivity detectors. Typical application fields are chipsets for cockpit displays, photon detectors and capacitive touch sensors.

Our Products Expertise

The company has an extended experience in the development of high-performance mixed signal circuits for Medical, Aerospace, Industrial and Consumer market segments. We deliver products for application fields requiring signal processing path for high-sensitivity detectors and sensors.

Whether the source of detection is capacitive, piezoelectric or photonic, our ultra-low noise analog sensing ICs can process signals from a single source up to 1024 parallel sources.

Our high-performance 32-bit CPU cores with our proprietary coprocessing units embed advanced machine learning algorithms for data and image preprocessing functions to off-load the host computing power.

Commonly the sensors require a high-voltage drive interface in the force-sense control loop. Our High-Voltage drivers can drive sensors up to 100V and as much as 1024 parallel channels.
