The World Economic Forum, committed to improving the state of the world, is the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation. The Forum engages the foremost political, business, and other leaders of society to shape global, regional, and industry agendas.
The Forum hosts 10 centres for advancing public-private cooperation across a range of global, regional, and industry issues. The Forum’s Centre for Climate and Nature (CNC) acts as a system leader on environment and natural resource security, food security, development finance, and sustainable development. The centre brings innovation and frontier approaches to help the international system be more agile and better equipped to respond to today’s challenges. Its initiatives are organized into three thematic pillars: Net Zero, Nature Positive, and Better Living.
Within the Net Zero Pillar and the Climate Strategy team, the Aviation Decarbonisation team coordinates the Forum’s net-zero aviation programme. This includes Airports of Tomorrow, a community of over 80 stakeholders from across the aviation and fuels value chains, aiming to accelerate the transition to sustainable aviation through policy, financing, and technology dialogues.
Why are we recruiting?
The Aviation Decarbonisation team is recruiting a new Specialist to support the delivery and implementation of the 2025 work programme for Airports of Tomorrow and other aviation decarbonisation activities. The Specialist will oversee community management tasks and the preparation and delivery of regular working groups. Through active involvement in the initiative, the Specialist will deepen their understanding of the aviation decarbonisation agenda and contribute to the team’s thought leadership outputs.
The Airports of Tomorrow community continues to grow, now including over 80 stakeholders and an even broader ecosystem of organisations and governments. Members include airlines and freight carriers, corporates, airports, fuel suppliers and producers, financiers, renewable energy developers, government entities, industry organisations, academia, and NGOs.
Throughout 2025, the team will host roughly one aviation decarbonisation community meeting every two to three weeks, most of them virtually. To ensure effective coordination, stakeholder engagement, and event delivery, the team requires a dedicated Specialist with strong project management and coordination capabilities. The role requires regular collaboration with internal Forum teams, including industry and account teams, and external stakeholders.
