We are on the search for a passionate, dynamic and charismatic individual to join us at YOTEL Geneva Lake as Banqueting, Meeting & Events Manager.

About the role
The Banqueting, Meeting & Events Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the hotel's banqueting and event operations. This includes coordinating, planning, and executing events, ensuring high standards of service, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency. The manager will lead a team of banquet staff, liaise with clients, and work closely with various hotel departments to deliver exceptional event experiences.
Responsibilities (not an exhaustive list)
- Lead the planning, preparation, and execution of banquets, conferences, weddings, and other large-scale events.
- Work with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budget.
- Prepare detailed event proposals, including food and beverage arrangements, layout, timing, and staffing.
- Ensure that event spaces are prepared according to client specifications, including seating arrangements, decor, and technical requirements.
- Supervise and manage banquet staff, including servers, bartenders, and coordinators.
- Recruit, train, and motivate team members to provide exceptional service during events.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and conduct regular feedback sessions with staff.
- Act as the primary point of contact for event clients, ensuring clear communication and understanding of event requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
- Ensure clients’ expectations are exceeded by delivering personalized service.
- Manage event budgets, ensuring events are delivered within the allocated budget.
This role will report into the Food & Beverage Manager, and be part of the leadership of the hotel.
Who we are looking for
- Fluent in French, professional skills in English and German is an asset.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in event or banqueting management within the hospitality industry, with a proven track record of managing large events.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, staff, and hotel management.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while ensuring that every detail of an event is executed flawlessly.
- Organizational Skills: Strong planning and time management skills to handle complex event coordination.
- Knowledge of Food & Beverage: Understanding of food and beverage offerings and the ability to manage catering requirements effectively.
