We are currently looking for a full-time Senior Geophysicist, starting date to be agreed. The position is based in Geneva.
The Senior Geophysicist will be responsible for seismic data interpretation and advanced seismic methods to support oil and gas exploration and development projects. The role requires expertise in analyzing subsurface structures, integrating geophysical and other subsurface data, and providing actionable insights for reservoir characterization and hydrocarbon potential evaluation.
We are a company in continuous expansion, with a great multicultural team and our comfortable office is located in the center of Geneva, overlooking the jet d'eau.
Key Responsibilitie:
- Conduct in-depth seismic interpretation to define structural and stratigraphic frameworks.
- Familiar with advanced geophysical methods including velocity model building for time/depth conversion, and advanced imaging techniques. Integrate geophysical data with geological and petrophysical datasets for comprehensive subsurface evaluations and reservoirs characterization.
- Collaborate with geologists and reservoir engineers to enhance reservoir models.
- QC and validate seismic processing workflows to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Experience in providing technical recommendations for seismic acquisition and reprocessing projects desirable.
- Support exploration and field development planning with high-quality geophysical analyses.
- Present findings and recommendations to internal teams and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s or PhD in Geophysics, Geosciences, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in seismic interpretation and reservoirs characterization within the oil & gas industry.
- Proficiency in industry-standard geophysical software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom, GeoTeric, Paradigm, or similar).
- Strong understanding of rock physics, AVO analysis, inversion techniques, and seismic attribute analysis. Experience working in the gather domain advantageous.
- Experience working in diverse geological settings, preferably in Africa.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills in English.
