In order to complete our team, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and the Institute of Sports Sciences of the University of Lausanne (ISSUL) wishes to expand its team by recruting a :
SENIOR LECTURER TYPE 1 (MER1)
IN TEACHING OF SPORT, PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SUSTAINABILITY ISSUES
Description
In your functions, you will have to :
Teaching (45%)
Six (6) hours a week of teaching throughout the year at Master’s level. Additionaly supervision of Master’s dissertations and PhD theses.
Research (50%)
The post-holder will pursue their own research in the field of teaching sport and/or physical education aimed at supporting the transformation towards a more sustainable society in the broad sense of the term, i.e, in response to current social, health-related and environmental challenges. They will be expected to produce high-quality international publications. It is expected that the post-holder will be affiliated to one of the research centres in the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences.
They will also seek external funding, in particular from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
Administrative responsibilities (5%)
In accordance with statutory requirements and in the name of collegiality, the post-holder will take on any administrative tasks that may be assigned to them by the Institute, Faculty, University or university decision-making bodies.
Requirements
In order to complete our team, we are looking for someone with the following skills :
- PhD in sports sciences or equivalent
- Academic teaching experience in sustainability (social, health-related and/or environmental) in the teaching of sport and physical education
- Proven record of very high-quality research in the field
- Good links with international research networks
- Ability to teach in French
- Proficiency in English, orally and in writing
