Mechanical Design Engineer - Automotive Industry (Thermal Management)

Currently we are looking for a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer for the R&D team of Johnson Electric in Murten, Switzerland. Our future colleague will contribute to our success by bringing the needed technical expertise to develop best-in-class products.

Your responsibilities will be to:

• Design and develop mechanical components and modifications for actuators, valves and thermal management modules in HVAC segment

• Turn research ideas into technical plans using CAD software

• Change management of designs, drawings, and product-defining documents according to change management process

• Kick-off of solutions for assembly and tests fixtures. Design review of the concepts of assembly and test fixtures

• Product care, continuous improvement and engineering support in case of quality issues

• VAVE of mechanical components for actuating systems

• Follow-up and analyze data from validation

• Collaborate with suppliers, customers and internal departments

• Write and present regular progress reports for project managers and clients

• Write technical documentation, project documents and preparation of projects reviews

Our requirements:

• 1-3 years of relevant experience from similar environment

• Bachelor degree or above in Mechanical Engineering

• Language skills: fluent English AND fluent French / German

• Understanding of design and engineering procedures; technical know-how of modern manufacturing technology in plastic and metal processing

• Experience in applying latest 3D engineering tools, ideally Unigraphics NX

• Independent and systematic working

• Autonomous and organized personality with strong problem-solving skills

• Teamwork and proficiency; initiative and diligence

• Willingness to participate in an international assignment in China for knowledge transfer and best practices
