The Strategic Communications Specialist is the leading Local Staff strategist/advisor in the Public Diplomacy (PD) Section responsible for messaging by the U.S. Mission to the United Nations and Other International Organizations, including the U.S. Delegation to the Conference on Disarmament, the U.S. Delegation to the Human Rights Council, and the U.S. Mission to the World Trade Organization, each with Ambassador-level leadership. Designs and coordinates outreach to promote understanding of and support for U.S. policy positions among influential audiences in the international community. Provides expert analysis of multilateral issues that affect U.S. interests, through briefings and reports to the Ambassadors and senior staff. Advises the Front Office, other Mission officers, and visiting VIPs on interactions with media/online audiences and senior contacts.
