What will you be doing as Group Manager Environmental Sustainability?
- Develop and implement a comprehensive environmental sustainability strategy aligned with corporate goals and regulatory requirements.
- Drive initiatives to reduce GHG emissions, energy consumption, water usage, and close material loops across all company operations.
- Calculate corporate and product carbon footprints, continuously improving accounting methodologies across all emission scopes
- Conduct scenario analysis and regularly assess climate-related risks and opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate sustainable practices into processes and decision-making.
- Further develop and track key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of environmental sustainability initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of the Group CSRD Sustainability Statement
- Stay informed on regulatory developments and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry best practices.
Who are you?
You are a passionate and experienced environmental sustainability professional, with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. You can effectively collaborate across functions and drive meaningful change. With a problem-solving mindset, a can-do attitude, and a reliable working style, you take initiative, overcome challenges, and communicate complex topics in a clear and engaging way.
Specifically, you bring:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in environmental sustainability, ideally within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- A deep understanding of climate change, carbon accounting principles, and both mitigation and adaptation strategies.
- Strong knowledge of environmental sustainability frameworks, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and leadership in sustainability efforts.
- A proven track record in implementing environmental sustainability initiatives and measuring their impact effectively.
- You are proficient in English, and additional proficiency in German is a plus. A willingness to travel internationally rounds off your profile.
The Group Sustainability Team
- The Group Sustainability team is the central hub for all things sustainability at Octapharma.
- We are responsible for developing, managing, and coordinating the implementation of the sustainability strategy across all business units.
- Operating as a networked team, we work in close collaboration with colleagues from different business areas to drive impactful sustainability initiatives.
- Additionally, we oversee Octapharma's sustainability reporting, ensuring transparency and progress tracking.
- The team consists of three dedicated professionals, and you will report to the Group Sustainability Director.
