The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is the guardian of the Olympic Games and the leader of the Olympic Movement. A truly global organisation, it acts as a catalyst for collaboration between all Olympic stakeholders, including athletes, National Olympic Committees (NOCs), International Sports Federations (IFs), Organising Committees for the Olympic Games (OCOGs), Worldwide Olympic Partners, and Media Rights-Holders. It also works with public and private authorities, including the United Nations and other international organisations.

As a Junior Project Manager Winter Sports you will be supporting the Winter Sports team within the Sports department to deliver Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 by ensuring a smooth coordination and delivery of activities in a timely and professional manner.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Sport Operations of Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026
- Support and contribute to the delivery of projects and activities related to sports planning and operations in accordance with upcoming Master Schedule deliverables, taking the lead on specific subject matters as agreed with the Associate Director.
- Contribute to and attend (in-person or online) regular periodic and ad-hoc meetings with internal functions and external stakeholders, particularly OCOGs and Winter IFs.
- Ensure appropriate contribution to the preparation of documents required for Coordination Commissions, Delivery Partner Meetings, Sport Reviews, and sports workshops.
- Participate in operational readiness/test events, SportAccord, Olympic Winter Games, or other relevant events as needed.
- Work closely with the Junior Manager to deliver the Olympic Games Knowledge Management programme.
- Coordinate post-Games debrief, including development, collection, and synthesising of IF post-Games questionnaire as well as the setup of the actual meeting, including assessment and maintenance of budgetary requirements.
General Coordination / Institutional Matters
- Contribute to the preparation of decisions and reports for the IOC Executive Board and IOC Session.
- Drive coordination of meetings and institutional activities (documentation and reports, logistics, expenses, etc.) according to policies and processes whilst ensuring timely documentation using IOC tools.
Stakeholder Management
- Establish and develop relationships with key operational contacts at each Olympic Winter IF and be the direct point of contact for specific matters, ensuring constructive, productive, and positive exchanges.
- Manage client relationship management tools (CoRe, contact lists, SharePoint sites, Olympics.org, etc.) and follow up with internal departments.
- Provide general support and help prepare regular communications related to institutional updates and/or the Games/Winter YOG preparation and other matters in a timely and accurate manner.
In order to be eligible for this role, you need to meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management, Event Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in sports operations, or experience in large event management, preferably within an Olympic or international sports context, but not limited to.
- Experience in managing projects, including planning, execution, and evaluation, particularly in high-pressure environments.
- Strong in using project management and collaboration tools, e.g., SharePoint and Smartsheet,).
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience in the organisation of a major sporting / multi-sports events considered a great asset.
- Experience with International Federation and/or OCOG would be great assets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
- Excellent sense and execution of planning with the ability to prioritisze tasks effectively.
- Ability to synthesisze information and provide actionable insights.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including international federations, local organiszing committees, and other partners.
