Join us as a Schemes Real Estate Underwriter within AXA Commercial and develop your career with a highly respected world leader. Working as part of the Schemes Hub team, you'll be responsible for profitability, income, and regulatory compliance as well as ownership of the financial results for allocated delegated authorities (DA’s).

What you’ll be doing:
- Focus on achieving profitability and top line plan, through portfolio underwriting, to deliver the financial results.
- Drive profitability by being clear on performance against agreed loss model (attrition, large loss and cat), monitor and engage the DA on rate and drive and implement any required Profit Improvement Plan.
- Fully utilise and develop personal empowerment levels to facilitate case management and achieve agreed service levels.
- ‘Solve Together’ by building and developing excellent external and internal relationships at all levels, establishing trusted partnerships to support execution on the SDA strategy.
- ‘Act for the Customer’ through the achievement and demonstration of full compliance with regulatory requirements, conduct and underwriting governance frameworks.
- ‘Get Clear and Own It’ to consistently deliver a first-class service to all stakeholders.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team, and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you’ll bring:

- Good trading capability, commercial awareness, negotiation skills and ability to build trusted partnering relationships.
- Pragmatic and confident decision maker with previous exposure to technical underwriting scenarios within a commercial environment.
- Management of Delegated Authority Relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of commercial insurance market and processes, including legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of commercial lines products.
- Good analytical and numerical reasoning skills with ability to manipulate and interpret data.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
