KARTING TECHNICAL MANAGER (Geneva - Switzerland)
Under the authority of the Chief Technical and Safety Officer, within the Technical and Safety Department, the Karting Technical Manger oversees all technical matters related to Karting activities.
The role involves managing regulations - including technical regulations tailored to address the specific needs of the energy transition - and homologation processes.
The position-holder works closely with the FIA Sporting Departments, the Technical Engineering Department, and the Safety departments, to meet the objectives set by the Circuit Sport Karting Commission.
MISSIONS AND RESPONSABILITIES:
Technical Delegate
- Attends all FIA Karting Championship Events as the CIK-FIA Technical Delegate and leads the team of CIK Scrutineers.
- Oversees all CIK-FIA technical/control equipment required for each FIA Karting Championship Event.
Technical Regulations Management
- Serves as the main point of contact for all technical inquiries/requests related to the Karting activities. Manages and participates in all CIK-FIA Technical Working Groups, and oversees and presents all reports and proposals to the CIK-FIA Commission.
- Prepares and follows-up Technical Regulations, implements homologation procedures and technical inspections, including technical regulations tailored to address the specific needs of the energy transition. Manages the entire CIK-FIA homologation inspection process (dossier preparation, inspections; coordination with laboratories for testing; tyre track tests).
- Coordinates research and development projects related to Karting activities.
- Proposes a roadmap to develop technical regulations in motor sport that address the specific needs of the energy transition.
- Collaborates closely with the Safety department to meet the objectives set by the Commission, driven by the requirements of the championships.
- Proposes and supervises the operating budget for Karting technical and safety activities.
PROFILE:
- 5-10 years of experience in motor sport, with a strong focus on karting activities
- Strong English skills, both written and spoken
- Proficiency in Italian and French is a plus
- Strong knowledge of the motor sport environment and karting categories
- Good knowledge of sporting and technical regulations
- Ability to understand and engage with sporting matters
- Interest in new technologies, including electrified vehicles and hydrogen-related technologies
- Analytical and problem-solving approach
- Availability and willingness to travel extensively
