design practice based in the beautiful Swiss alp region of Saanen-Gstaad, Bern, we are currently seeking a detail-oriented Architectural Draftsman (Zeichner, Dessinateur en architecture) to
join their architectural design team (CFC/TechnicienES/FH).
including residential (chalets) and interior design and have the ability to
take a project from concept to completion, working closely with the architect /

POSITION
As
an Drafter, highly sensitive to the art of construction work and interior design-architecture-decoration;
you will have the following mission:
- Analyzing building specifications,
codes, and sites.
- Creating technical drawings and specifications (focus on drawing Execution Plans).
- Using AutoCAD (or Revit) software
to create drawings that incorporate exact measurements, calculations,
building codes, and other construction details.
- Printing CAD drawing schematics for
use by architects, construction managers, and structural engineers.
- Actively participate
with the design team in the production required: concepts, drawings, models,
material, space planning, FF&E, lighting and mood boards and other
documents relating to the design and presentation
- Responsible for
managing all stages of the design process, clearly and concisely communicate
with internal team members throughout project duration
- Manage project schedules and ensure
timely delivery of product
- Developing conceptual
designs into buildable solutions, preparing and presenting design proposals to
clients (external & internal designs)
- Visiting construction sites to
perform measurements and calculate dimensions as needed.
- Collaborating with architects and
construction engineers to ensure adherence to building specifications and
industry regulations.
- Keeping abreast of the latest
developments and technologies in architectural design.
PROFILE
We
are seeking a highly dependable person, who is available to come to work in Saanen-Gstaad, Bern Kanton (1-2 days of Work from Home), establishing in or close to the village, in order to become a part
of this close-knit family business that enjoys strong ties with the local (international) community. The following profile background would be ideal for the position:
- Degree or Certification in Architectural Drawing (Zeichner, Dessinateur en Bâtiment / Architecture CFC) with focus on Residential Constructions & Interior Design
- Prior experience as an
architectural draftsman in Switzerland (a Must Have)
- Prior experience of residential, hospitality, or interior design projects
- Ability to see a project through from conception to completion,
from concept design through to development and technical design stages
- Experience in taking part in presentations and client meetings.
Site experience is also desirable, as is knowledge of suppliers and
products
- Proven ability to work to tight deadlines and to work
independently on small projects and in a team on large projects
- Detailed knowledge of FF&E products, suppliers and
manufacturers available in the marketplace
- Excellent communication skills. Must be fluent in both written and
spoken English. French or German fluency will also be needed
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient in SW programs such as: AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe,
SketchUp, Rhino and MS Office
- Reliable and detail-oriented with a high level of initiative and
self-motivation
