Thomson Reuters is looking to add to their Data & Analytics team, a key leader who will work with experts across disciplines to lead our data architecture strategy and implementation. The successful candidate will be responsible to create, communicate and assure adoption of Data & Analytics Policies, Standards and Guidelines as well as overseeing the design and governance of our data infrastructure, ensuring that our data solutions are scalable, secure, and support our company's data and analytics ambitions.
Reporting into the Head of Data & Analytics, the Vice President, Data & Analytics Architecture will collaborate with other executives to drive innovation and deliver value through data-driven decision-making. About the Role
In this opportunity as Vice President, Data & Analytics Architecture, you will:
Develop and Deliver – In partnership with the VP Data Strategy & Business Operations you will create and evolve an enterprise-wide Data Architecture, including patterns, standards, and guidelines, that enables the future direction of our products, commercial systems, and processes.
Be a Leader – Build and lead a team of data architects to design and building robust, scalable, and efficient and well governed data systems. Provide thought leadership on data architecture trends and best practices. Mentor and develop a high-performing team.
Be a Team Player – Working in a collaborative team-oriented environment, you will share information, value diverse ideas, partner with cross-functional and remote teams to ensure completeness and common understanding of the data architecture direction, roadmap, and requirements for the security and compliance of data systems in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
Have an Agile Mindset – With a strong sense of urgency, you will collaborate with IT, engineering, and business stakeholders to integrate data architecture into broader tech and business initiatives. Drive the adoption of new technologies and data management practices that enhance our data capabilities.

This includes communicating the data architecture to all levels of the organization including senior executives, board members, product managers, data engineers and data analysts.
About You
You're a fit for the role of Vice President, Data & Analytics Architecture if your background includes:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Minimum of 15 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a related field, with at least 8 years in a leadership role.
Ability to successfully operate across organizational boundaries and to influence and guide.
Robust analytical skills with the ability to synthesize business requirements with technology capabilities to produce coherent architectures and technical designs.
Strong written and verbal communication experience including cultural and language awareness.
Hands-on experience creating and evolving an enterprise data architecture, including transitional and target state architecture deliverables.
Proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale modern cloud-native architectures, data engineering best practices, and modernizing legacy data architectures.
Strong knowledge of cloud database design, data modeling, and data warehousing principles.
Experience with a variety of distributed systems patterns including data caching, federated search, event driven, synchronous and asynchronous processing.
Familiarity with big data technologies, machine learning, and analytics platforms.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Experience with agile methodologies and a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle.
