Working within our Group Technology team in charge of our next generation of connected products and services, this Manager will lead a team of expert to develop & improve internal automation solution in alignment with BOBST strategy to shape the future of the packaging industry.
He will define the roadmap through the backlog (contents and priorities) and align Group Technology R&D teams as well as product lines R&D through well described features and user stories.
The Automation/Real time Software Manager will report to the Director Embedded Platform at Group technology. He will be located in Mex (Switzerland).
You will be working in an Industrial environment with embedded equipment and closely partner with cross functional teams and experts in our organization.
Main Responsibilities
- Align the Product Lines technologies towards a common platform approach
- Lead a technical R&D team to ensure proper execution of the roadmap
- Understand and translate customer needs/expectations into a backlog, understandable by the development team. Collaborate with other Product Owners to build a coherent strategy and roadmap for global machine software
- Share knowledge and create awareness to build Stakeholders alignment.
Professional Experience &Skills
- 10+ Years of Experience in Embedded Software Development using Real-time Operating System.
- A first successful experience as manager leading software team.
- Experience using CI/CD environment (ideally Azure DevOps).
- Experience using fieldbus (ideally Ethercat , …) and standard protocols (ideally OPC-UA, …).
- Experience in an Agile environment.
- Experience using Standard Automation Solution (Siemens, CODESYS, ...) using Structured text or C++.
Your personal attributes
- Excellent communication skills.
- Team oriented, able to work with multiple actors, in a multi-cultural and international environment.
- Capability to dive in technical details, understand and explain complex problems.
- Ability to travel frequently (up to 20%).
Your education and languages capabilities
- Minimum B.Sc. degree or equivalent in Automation, and Embedded Software
- Proficiency in English and French
