PhD Position in Differential Geometry

PhD Position in Differential Geometry
Place of work: Brig, Switzerland
Start of work: Flexible, at the latest by September 1, 2025
Your tasks
- Conduct research and write a PhD thesis in the field of differential geometry under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Thomas Mettler
- Support undergraduate mathematics teaching through tutorial sessions, exercise groups and grading of student exercise sheets
- Present research at national and international conferences and participate in academic workshops
Your profile
- MSc in Mathematics
- Strong background in differential geometry and/or analysis
- Familiarity with one of the following research areas is an advantage: projective differential geometry, Riemann surfaces/complex geometry, calculus of variations, Cartan geometries
- Fluent English required (teaching language)
