The Position

Within Knowledge & Learning Excellence, we deliver the right content at the right time via the right channels for our customers to enable error-free operation of our products. We use multilingual data to improve the customer experience with our digital service solutions and products. We ensure that internal knowledge is curated and spread across all customer areas, and efficiently and properly prepared for our customers.
Within the Language Operations subchapter, we take care of all aspects related to terminology, translation, localization, language models, and source language governance. To do what really matters, we are in close contact with our stakeholders, both internally and externally.summary of your department.
This internship position is located in Rotkreuz, Switzerland, hybrid.
Key Responsibilities

Create and maintain harmonized and consistent terminology in English for the projects/products in charge and providing terminology to all departments in need of terminology.

Work with cross-department terminology circles or subject matter expert groups for the projects/products in charge, independently and according to Roche terminology management standards.

Support the localization of terminology in the languages in charge in close cooperation with relevant stakeholders.

Maintain and further develop and improve the terminology database and the representation of multilingual knowledge.

In collaboration with the User/Customer Experience department and the Technical Writer assigned to the project, contribute to the creation of English user interface texts, and review them for translatability, terminological correctness, and adherence to style guidelines.
Who You Are
You are enrolled or have completed your Master’s studies at a university, preferably in the field of translation studies, linguistics, computational linguistics, or technical communication
after February 2024 and are interested in applying your knowledge in a modern working environment as part of an internship.
Furthermore you

Are fluently in English, one additional “Roche” language required and additional languages beneficial (e.g., Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Czech, Turkish, Finnish, Estonian, Polish).

Have knowledge of taxonomies and controlled vocabulary

Have experience in terminology management and/or in localization and translation, language technology

Have good communication skills

Have cultural awareness
Technical details:
The start date for the internship is March 2025 with a duration of 12 months.
Part-time employment is not possible.
It is not possible to write a thesis during the internship.
The application deadline is November 11th. Interviews will take place in late November and early December.
