For new and growing technical challenges, we are looking for a Process Engineer – specializing in Materials Science, Chemistry, Microtechnology.
Your main tasks
Within the R&D department, this activity mainly consists of supporting and developing sophisticated products and processes, from their conception to their respective production maturity.
Tasks:
- Development of material transformation processes:
- Specialized technical assistance in the definition of materials and corresponding control and characterization procedures
- Technical assistance in the production and process development phases
- Definition of manufacturing processes and in particular surface treatment and ultra-fine washing operations for high-precision mechanical components
- Analysis of internal and/or customer specifications for the development of particular solutions
- Definition of manufacturing processes and in particular surface treatment and ultra-fine washing operations for high-precision mechanical components
- Analysis of internal and/or customer specifications for the development of special solutions, including the possible development of test and measurement methods and devices
- Research/definition of systems and devices, including detailed discussion of technical characteristics, definition of any modifications/customizations of the systems, as well as validation of the same.
- Definition and execution of controls, measurements and surveys including the drafting of technical reports suitable for the validation of materials and the identification, definition and improvement of manufacturing techniques;
- Identification of suitable process peripherals (tools, accessories, etc.) and auxiliary products (lubricants, solvents, detergents, etc.), including the performance of verification tests, critical analysis of the results and technical validation of chemical compositions
- Drafting of technical documents, process descriptions, analysis reports
- Supply Chain support for the procurement of special materials and the search for respective suppliers
Your profile
- Academic education ETH or similar with a technical focus, in materials science, process engineering or similar
- Experience in an industrial environment in a similar position
- in-depth knowledge of the physics and chemistry of mechanical processing and cleaning processes
- experience in the ultrafine cleaning process for high-level industrial applications (in particular for metal components)
- Strong analytical skills in complex environments
- Ability to analyze (chemically) contamination in the production process (e.g. XPS, SEM-EDX, FTIR, UV-Vis spectrometry)
- Experience with residual gas analysis (RGA), high vacuum systems and mass spectrometry
- Experience in controlling contamination of mechanical processing and cleaning processes
- Ability to work in a team and to solve problems. The successful candidate will be part of the research and development department.
