- Perform quarterly closing tasks, manage tax provisions, accruals, and intercompany loans, and prepare tax declarations.
- Handle intercompany cash transfers, fixed assets accounting, verify financial statements, and support the Group Consolidation team.
We are looking for a General Accountant for our client, an international engineering company, for a full-time position located between Vevey in the canton of Vaud and Châtel-St-Denis in the canton of Fribourg.
Description
- Perform quarterly closing tasks to produce trial balances for each legal entity.
- Manage and record corporate tax provisions, accruals, and interest on intercompany loans.
- Conduct balance sheet revaluations.
- Prepare withholding tax and VAT declarations for various countries, collaborating with tax advisors.
- Handle accounting tasks related to intercompany cash transfers and invoices.
- Oversee fixed assets accounting and post depreciation entries.
- Verify the accuracy of balance sheets and profit & loss statements for assigned companies.
- Create control documents and ensure the accuracy of local accounting records.
- Report entities in the Corporate Consolidation System and ensure data quality.
- Support the Group Consolidation team.
- Collaborate daily with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management teams.
- Take responsibility for the statutory financial statements of the legal entities.
Profile
- Similar experience in a multi-entity environment
- Proficiency in English (B2-C1), ideally with knowledge of Dutch and French
- Knowledge of Swiss GAAP, IFRS. Dutch GAAP is a plus.
- Excellent mastery of Excel and financial IT systems (SAP is a plus)
- Autonomy, flexibility, and proactivity
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Availability to travel in Europe 4 to 6 times a year
