Short Description
Provide telecoms regulatory support, keep track of regional legislation, policy changes and industry regulations, and support on mitigation planning.
Why we need this position :
Reporting to the Regulatory Director, International Affairs, this role involves monitoring telecoms regulation compliance, primarily in France and the US & Canada (with external support for the US and Canada), and effectively communicating regulatory analysis results to internal stakeholders. Responsibilities include preparing regulatory submissions for government bodies, supporting the regulatory reporting team in understanding local requirements, and identifying necessary processes. Additionally, the role entails conducting economic analysis and compliance investigations to inform regulatory strategy, managing stakeholder relationships as needed, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the regulatory team.
What you'll do :
Monitor regulatory and competitive developments on priority topics such as access, interconnect, compliance, economic regulation and costs.
Analyze the impact of telecom regulatory, policy, and market changes in France, the US and Canada to inform both local and company-wide strategies.
Advise internal stakeholders on regulatory updates, risks, and opportunities, working closely with teams such as carrier Relations, Voice Interconnect and engineering, Product, and Anti Fraud
Prepare and submit regulatory filings to government bodies, ensuring compliance with local obligations.
Support compliance with regulatory requirements in France, the US and Canada including specific requests from National Regulatory Authorities.
Represent the company in regulatory forums at the national level (in person for France and, if required, remotely for the US and Canada)
Conduct research and analysis on global licensing requirements and support their implementation
Contribute to the overall functioning of the regulatory team by streamlining processes, supporting budgeting and KPIs, and improving internal tools and documentation.
About you :
Must-Haves:
Fully fluent in French and English (both verbal and written).
Degree in Law or Economics (preferably post-graduate).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proactive, positive mindset with a willingness to learn, grow, and support others.
Good to Have:
Experience (as a student or in a work placement) in applied economics or competition law, with familiarity in relevant software tools.
Some experience in telecoms regulation (even a few months to a year).
Command of multiple European languages or experience working in a regulatory context in different European countries.
Knowledge of the telecommunication sector.
