The Department of Biomedicine, University of Basel, Switzerland, invites qualified candidates to apply for a position as technical assistant in Biology, Biochemistry and Cancer Research. The candidate will join our multi-disciplinary team and focus on the development and performance of modern assays to evaluate bioactive molecules targeting major signaling pathways in cancer and inflammation.
The working place of the successful candidate is the Department of Biomedicine at Mattenstrasse 28, 4058 Basel.
Projects:
Main focus:
i) Targeting oncogenicity by covalent inhibitors, a project with a translational aspect.
For relevant recent publications see https://pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.1021/jacs.1c13568 ; https://pubs.rsc.org/en/content/articlelanding/2024/sc/d4sc05459 h
This project is flanked by a basic research project developing novel chemical probes and degraders to dissect mechanisms of adverse effects in cancer and metabolism.
For a summary of the latter see: https://data.snf.ch/grants/grant/204602
ii) In parallel we investigate the role of PI3K in allergy, metabolic control, obesity, diabetes and cancer.
