About the team you are joining
The
Manager, Airport Development will be part of a team of airport planning experts
focused on major airport infrastructure projects globally.
The
role will lead work on airport design, development, and capital investment
related advocacy activities, including the effective strategy and engagement of
IATA and our member airlines with airports, regulators and governments. The role requires leading the development of
best practice industry guidance material and technical projects to ensure
efficient airport facilities are planned and delivered.
Other
activities may include however are not limited to:
- Leading airport development research and benchmarking activities
- Engaging with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to inform IATA’s strategy
- Reporting and tracking of airport development related activities
- Commercial activities such as the development and delivery of IATA airport development training programs, planning and delivery conferences activities, supporting IATA airport consulting work
What your day would be like
- Provide
expert support to Airport Development colleagues and airlines to ensure airport
capital expenditure is demand driven, cost efficient, affordable, and
prioritized to meet airlines’ needs.
- Lead
the effective engagement with airports on major infrastructure developments
though effective research and benchmarking.
- Effective
stakeholder management to develop collaborative and credible relationships
built on technical expertise, diplomacy, and professional judgment to
facilitate the delivery of member benefits.
- Lead
the prioritization of airport charges and development exercises through
research and analysis to inform decisions through IATA’s governance processes
with airlines.
- Actively
support document findings and recommendations for airport consultation
meetings, airline reviews and feedback supporting benefits realization.
- Lead
the development and implementation of a Centre of Excellence including
projects, technical tools and guidance material to support IATA’s advocacy
activities in our members interests e.g. airport planning, cost and
sustainability tools, IATA position papers, Airport Development Reference
Manual development, ICAO guidance material.
- Support
IATA’s commercial activities such as the development of airport development
training courses and consulting activities.
- Administration
relating to airport campaigns and consultation activities supporting the
airport development team.
We would love to hear from you if
- Relevant experience in airport planning, engineering, infrastructure, facilities design or project management of Airport projects.Good understanding of IATA Airport Development Reference Manual planning and design standards and relevant ICAO standards.
- Well-developed stakeholder management skills, and the ability to persuade by reasoned argument based on technical merit.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong team player, ability to work closely with internal colleagues and external airline members and airports senior management.
- Commitment to delivery of quality output on time.
