Under the Test & Validation Manager supervision, the Test Engineer is responsible to create and execute accurate Design Validation Test plans that guarantee the desired operation and intention of the new parts/products in coordination with System Engineers. The results of the tests should provide a clear and accurate verification and validation of the new parts, machines, and technologies, and to form a solid experimental support to drive the technical decisions among the R&D Teams.
You will work in close collaboration with the Test & Validation Manager and System Engineers for the test design.
Helping a team of operators, printer specialists and Expert Printer for the execution of the test plans. You are expected to coordinate various tests at the same time and analyse and communicate the results to the development teams.

In addition, you will be involved in the definition of the new product/part requirement and the selection of KPIs with the System Engineers and R&D Teams.
Together with the Program Managers, System Engineers, and R&D teams, you will play a key role in the quality, and therefore the success, of the new products and machines arriving to the market.


Mission & Key responsibilities
  • Creation and execution of Design Validation Tests (DVT) for new parts, subsystems or functionalities (mechanical, electrical, SW, etc).
  • Creation of detailed Test Plans and Test Reports to be shared with the various stakeholders of the projects.
  • Coordination of the tests and resources (machines, operators, etc) to ensure time delivery.
  • Collaborate with the System Engineers in the definition of product/part requirements (e.g. functionalities, speed, safety standards), FMEA documentation and quantitative KPIs for successful verification and validation.
  • Analyse test results, detect failure modes and find root causes.
  • Communicate the conclusions to the R&D teams including suggestion for fixing or improvements.
  • Document technical issues and solutions.
  • Communicate on risk, delays or changes that could affect the goals of the projects.
  • Engage with upper management regularly with reports on status, activities, and achievements.
  • Implement and promote best-practices and methodologies among the teams.

Skills and Experience
  • MSc (or higher) in Test engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Software Engineering or similar.
  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) as a Test Engineer or similar role in industrial environment and/or machine industry.
  • Proven experience with Test Design, Quality Assurance and Problem Solving Methodologies.
  • Analytical and systematic mindset.
  • High problem-solving skills.
  • Willing to learn on daily basis.
  • Action and results-oriented
  • Fluent in English (French and German are assets).
  • Experience/knowledge in project management.
  • Autonomous. Knows how to make things happen, find relevant information, tools, vendors…
  • Flexible and resilient. Knows how to deal with early (and unstable) R&D developments.
  • Ability to set up and communicate goals to create commitment.
  • Be able to delegate responsibility to fulfil targets and obtain results
  • Able to give positive and negative feedback
  • Knowledge of quality standards and regulations or additional certification in Quality Assurance is a plus.
