The Macromolecular Crystallography MX group at the Swiss Light Source SLS is responsible for developing and operating advanced MX beamlines and a crystallization facility. As part of the SLS 2.0 upgrade, we are enhancing beamline performance and unlocking new opportunities for MX research, providing state-of-the-art tools and expanded capabilities for the scientific community. We are seeking a motivated scientist to drive advancements in dynamic macromolecular crystallography and support cutting-edge research at our beamlines.
Your tasks
- Develop methodologies for dynamic macromolecular crystallography
- Design and maintain online data processing and visualization frameworks for standard MX and dynamic MX at SLS and SwissFEL
- Integrate molecular dynamics simulations and ML-based structure prediction workflows into crystallographic pipelines
- Establish collaborations, engage with the scientific community, and conduct user outreach
- Support academic and industry users
Your profile
- PhD degree in natural science, engineering, or a related field
- Academic or industrial work experience after PhD
- Research experience in macromolecular crystallography, data analysis, and computational methods
- Previous experience in working at or utilizing synchrotron or XFEL facilities
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Good command of English
