What's the role?
In this role you will be a reference point for the team when comes to crafting product housing, structural design, and mechanisms in both plastic and metal. Additionally, you will also be responsible of coordinating with external partners to drive excellence in tool design.
What does the role involve?
In this role, you’ll design cutting-edge housing for innovative products with core focus on plastics. You will develop firsthand and collaborate with internal and external partners for the development of 2D and 3D CAD design for injection molded plastic part and CNC metal parts following GPS standards. Your expertise in fastening systems and fine mechanics will be crucial in developing robust, high-performance, IP66-rated products, optimizing screws, clips, glues, welding, etc. You’ll be the technical reference to transition from design to industrialization, ensuring seamless production. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to mentor and lead external designers, shaping the future of our design processes. This role offers a unique blend of creativity, technical challenge, and leadership, making a tangible impact on the products we create and the markets we serve.
What you need is:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong CAD design skills in NX ( e.g., 2D with GPS standard, 3D for injection molded plastic parts, and CNC metal parts)
- Proven track-record on plastic housing design, including IP 66 or higher
- Experience on fastening systems design and selection: screws, clips, glues, welding, etc.
- Deep understanding of design rules and principles (E.g. C&CM, Morpho-chart)
