Job Description Summary
As Lab Automation Informatics Specialist, reporting hierarchically to Laboratory Informatics Area Manager Central being part of the Technical Service EMEA Informatics Center of Excellence Team, you will be accountable to support customers within Switzerland on the BD Integrated Diagnostic Solution Middleware solutions and related IT connectivity activities. The LIS is involved in the sales activities as a Subject Matter Expert, implementation and sustainment processes such as the initial customer lab audit, proposal of technical solutions during project, system implementation and integration into the final user IT infrastructure. The LIS is responsible for the support, upgrade and maintenance, problem resolution and troubleshooting of the Middleware solutions.

Main responsibilities will include:

To install, implement, fix and maintain the BD IDS Middleware (BD EpiCenter and BD Synapsys) at customer sites.

To connect the BD IDS Middleware to the customer IT network as required; To support/implement the Middleware connections (LIS, Client/Server architecture) in collaboration with the Applications Support Team;

Use, record, maintain and report all support activities into the service management system (customer installed base, software version, tickets, on site visits, remote support, maintenance, etc.)

Support the BD IDS sales team in the country/region during the sales activities such as: IT connectivity questions, lab audits, project proposals and customer interactions;
About you

Bachelor Degree in IT or IT engineering (or equal by experience)

A first experience as Informatics Specialist, preferably in medical technology companies.

In-depth technical knowledge of Data Base Query language, SQL server installation and configuration, connectivity solutions, computer networking (VPN-VLAN), ASTM and HL7 protocols

A demonstrable experience of technical product servicing and repairing in a field environment, preferably working with IT devices

Project management skills

German or French as native language + proficiency in English

Able to travel up to 50% (entire Switzerland coverage requested)
