We are looking for a Global Head of Talent Acquisition to lead the TA centre of excellence (internally we call Talent Acquisition “Join”) and act as a HRLT member in the Global People Organization at the HQ office in Basel. As a direct report of the Chief People Officer (CPO), you would act as the guardian of the company culture, diversity, skills and capabilities of the people being brought into our organization, lead and influence hiring globally across all regions, business units and functions.

You would consult directly with the CEO, CPO and Executive Members of the Board to support active hiring and pipelining for future capability needs, partnering closely with Global / Regional HR Leadership team members to define and lead global hiring strategies and initiatives to meet business growth objectives. You would lead a global team of TA Leads and Partners supporting the strategy and delivery of TA services.

You should be passionate about developing meaningful relationships with internal stakeholders understanding short and long-term skills and capability needs.

The role is based in our Basel global headquarters. The role requires being in the office 4-5 days a week to ensure close collaboration and relationship management with our executive stakeholders.

More about the role:

  • HRLT Member: As a HRLT member, work with the Global HR Leadership team acting as a thought leader in Talent Acquisition, Employer Brand and Onboarding, discussing HR model evolution, deliverables, change management and supporting to prioritize resources / investments / projects to benefit business outcomes.
  • Join Leadership: Lead a global team of >40 TA Partners via a team of 6 TA Leaders covering all Regions and Lead the Talent Acquisition model transformation bringing more mature service delivery of recruitment services including higher level consulting capabilities and valuable data insights. Renegotiate and harmonize governance, process and R&Rs globally with other HR COEs. Steer TA model discussions to answer questions around:
  • How will AI impact hiring? What do we implement / how do we drive adoption?
  • What is skills based recruitment? How does this translate across compensation, development, succession, learning?
  • What will be the future TA responsibility and service in internal recruitment / Contingent Worker hiring?
  • How we continue to strengthen our TA practices to drive diversity and inclusion through hiring the right people?
  • How do we standardize Production and Sales hiring practices to add more value?
  • Recruitment Delivery: Ensure the delivery of 3000-3500 hires per annum, primarily in production, sales and niche corporate roles. Accountability to progressively track and improve time, cost and quality of hire, balancing agency cost risks, consider volume / outsourcing solutions and increasing service deliverables in TA.
  • Budget Accountability & Transformation: Budget management of global TA budget, with an expectation to introduce a comprehensive recharge model in 2025 allowing scalability and common TA service deliverables globally.
  • Executive Hiring: Personal involvement in Executive Hiring for CEO-1 and CEO-2 hiring in Basel, with support from our TA team in Madrid. Steering and tracking all executive hiring globally and presenting updates to the Board of Directors and Exec team.
  • TA Tech & Process Innovation: Scout and lead investments in TA process and technology innovation. Today we have a strong technology backbone of SAP SF Recruiting (ATS) and Phenom People (CRM). In 2025 you will lead the design, implementation and launch of ServiceNow Onboarding in pilot markets before a global rollout in 2026. Input into the design of our HR Data Lake ensuring the right recruiting data and dashboards are prepared and deployed across HR.
  • Capability Building: Lead TA capability building strategy, and drive adoption of core recruiting processes, technologies including consultative hiring strategy meetings, automated interview scheduling (Phenom), LinkedIn Recruiter, LinkedIn Talent Insights, AI fit scoring, gender bias analysis, competency based interviews, etc. Ensure delivery of competency-based interview training across all markets to remove bias and raise manager competence.
  • Talent Intelligence: Using Strategic Workforce Planning outcomes, de-risk talent supply by building a strong talent intelligence practice understanding current and future talent needs, ensure market access and create talent maps / pools which can be accessed quickly in case of specific needs.
  • Employer Brand: Lead the deployment of the Employer Brand / EVP globally across digital / career site / social media / physical advertising. Encouraging leaders and employees to be brand ambassadors in video, web and social. Ensure the EVP is positioned across all internal HR communication.
  • Diversity & Inclusion Champion: Act as a global champion of diversity and inclusion at internal or external public speaking events coaching managers to think broadly about “who” and “how” they hire understanding the value of diverse teams and mindsets.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance to all local and global auditing requirements including ISO and OFCCP compliance (Straumann Group holds Federal Contractor status in the USA).
  • Supplier Management: Leading contract negotiations for major technology and agency / search firm supplier partnerships to ensure cost containment and service quality. Examples include LinkedIn Enterprise Contract, LI Talent Insights, ATS and CRM licenses, etc.

Who we are looking for …

  • A seasoned Talent Acquisition and HR Leader experienced in executive recruitment and business consultancy, TA model org design, passionate about delivering impact. You must be someone who can connect dots by understanding business needs, advise on market trends and use business consulting skills to coach and drive decision making.
  • Ability to justify and fund new operating models, design high performing delivery organizations, introduce governance and scalability. Leadership of change management including documenting, training and communication of new approaches.
  • Experience in leading leaders and people management of large organizations (40 plus people), prioritizing people development and skill building.
  • Using data-driven insights and KPIs to measure performance, oversee req loads, providing continuous improvement recommendations. Understand external talent demographics and tell stories with data, develop targeted marketing tactics describing our people, purpose and career progression opportunities.
  • Expert in recruitment technology and data (ATS, CRM, internal talent data, etc) to support new tech implementation. High proficiency with integrated recruitment systems (ATS & CRM) and broader HR technologies including AI tools. Ability to design, implement, test and launch complex integrated technology architecture.
  • Interviewing, assessment and selection expert. Coaching leaders and HR professionals about how to select talent for “need now”, growth and future capabilities. Design of models and methodologies to hire for niche and volume hiring projects.
  • Confidence in public speaking with experience presenting concepts in town halls, executive meetings and training events.
