Reporting to the Product Management Director for Baxter’s Digital Platforms & Innovation, this role will lead product management for Baxter’s digital innovation. This individual contributor role will lead new product development with a cross-functional team that partners with every Baxter division and Global downstream marketing teams, incorporating service, customer, and market feedback into solutions targeted across care settings.
This is a full-time, hybrid position where the candidate would report to the office at least three days a week out of one of our Baxter offices:
- Deerfield (IL)
- Skaneateles (NY)
- Raleigh (NC)
- Bellevue (WA)
- Batesville (IN)
What You'll Be Doing:
The Senior Product Manager will lead ideation, roadmap development, and execution of independent commercialized solutions, key components within commercialized solutions, and internal apps to improve businesses or operations. This position will collaborate with relevant upstream product managers, regional marketing and sales teams, R&D, and service; as well as other internal and external stakeholders for the assigned areas of the overall connectivity portfolio and strategy. The key objective is to transform care through actionable insights and connected care innovation.
What You'll Bring:
- Leads all aspects of product development including ideation, concept testing, feasibility, new product development (NPD), and launch strategy. Proficient in understanding customer needs and workflows.
- Collaborates with Digital Platforms & Innovation and Baxter divisions for monitoring, measuring, and identifying opportunities for enabling early innovation and new product development.
- Provides leadership and expertise in driving Baxter’s connected care strategy including identifying partnership and acquisition opportunities to accelerate launches and improved organizational capabilities.
- Collaborates with Digital Platforms & Innovation and Baxter Division teams to define and implement simplified and enhanced processes and marketing programs for accelerating connectivity adoption including pre-sales, deployment, use, and service.
- Provides input to 5-year strategic plan. Manage global growth strategy and adoption of associated new data science solutions in collaboration with division product management and global marketing regions.
- Develops innovation program governance and operating mechanisms
- Conducts research and analysis of business information to develop understanding of industry and competitive environment; stay in tune with any market forces or business drivers that would be influential to future markets.
- Identifies and pursues sources of incremental growth for existing portfolio.
- Develops business plan and financial analysis for portfolio opportunities.
- Provides oversight to management of product costs, has input to global pricing of applicable portfolio, and margin maintenance.
- Leads requirements definition and R&D project execution.
- Manages product positioning/messaging for product families, supporting messaging / positioning for new products being developed.
- Drives product lifecycle process for portfolio of products.
- Collaborates with regional marketing and medical affairs on identification and development of evidence-based proof points.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Required background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or Science; MBA preferred
- 6+ years experience in healthcare software, medical devices or equivalent with multifaceted leadership in strategic product marketing
- Strong project management capabilities enabling strategic execution; PMP certification is an asset
- Deep and broad marketing capability expertise, including New Product Development (NPD), customer insight, marketing strategy, and innovation
- Ability to manage relationships with global key opinion leaders to shape market understanding and build advocacy
- Experience effectively leveraging and applying available analytical tools
- Experience with financial modeling to support NPD decision-making
- Experience developing product requirements for new technologies
- Experience in Go-to-market effort on NPD team
- Entrepreneurial spirit, result-oriented, and growth mindset
- Proven track record to influence others, including those globally dispersed, in other functions, and in more senior positions
- Strong communicator with executive stakeholder management expertise
- Business development or strategic marketing experience would be an asset
- Strong technical and analytical skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams within a matrixed organization
- Willingness to travel 25%

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $128,000 to $176,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
