Mission
We are offering a unique opportunity for a master's student to conduct a thesis focused on evaluating the effectiveness of our email security measures, specifically targeting phishing and spear-phishing attacks. The project will involve analyzing the detection and prevention rates of various email security tools, assessing the role of end-user reporting, and determining how many incidents have been prevented. Additionally, the project will seek to correlate data from different sources to uncover additional insights and key performance indicators (KPIs). There is also potential to leverage Generative AI to augment and classify the data, enhancing the overall analysis.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Exploration and Analysis: Delve into the available data related to email security, including logs of phishing and spear-phishing emails, detection and prevention metrics, user reports, and security incident records.
Objective: Identify and extract relevant data points that will allow for a comprehensive evaluation of email security tools and the overall protection level, with a focus on correlating data from various sources for enriched insights.
- Architecting Data Processing Solutions: Collaborate with our data science team to design and implement a robust architecture for processing and analyzing large datasets efficiently.
Objective: Develop a data processing pipeline that ensures accuracy and scalability, enabling thorough analysis and comparison of email security tools and their effectiveness in preventing incidents.
- Utilizing Generative AI for Data Augmentation: Explore and implement the use of Generative AI to classify, augment, and enhance the dataset, providing deeper insights and improving the accuracy of threat detection and analysis.
Objective: Leverage AI to automate and refine the analysis process, uncovering patterns and trends that may not be immediately apparent through traditional data analysis methods.
- Reporting, Dashboarding, and KPI Development: Create detailed reports and interactive dashboards that visualize the performance of email security tools. Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track the success of email security measures over time, incorporating insights from correlated data sources.
Objective: Provide clear and actionable insights that highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the current email security setup, guiding future enhancements and strategic decisions.
