The Opportunity
The purpose of the Architect, Plasma Quality Applications role is to direct all I&T activities surrounding the full application lifecycle for Plasma Quality applications. Main responsibilities include primary liaison between Plasma I&T and several Plasma Support Teams, and Plasma Business Teams. You will coordinate resources for troubleshooting, architecting new solutions, ensuring best performance from existing systems and implementing new solutions.
The Role
- Manage the creation and implementation of Plasma Quality Applications, I&T Strategies that are aligned with corporate business strategy and lead strategic application roadmaps to support the strategic direction.
- Direct ongoing operations for the functional area, analyze important metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of IT processes and improve daily operations and project delivery, and ensures that an inventory of company software systems assets is maintained. Oversee the plasma applications, including implementing, monitoring, troubleshooting, securing, and maintaining throughout their lifecycle.
- Ensure the application team is complying with the appropriate regulatory guidelines; QMS (global IT Quality Management System) and IT procedures. Ensure audit findings close within agreed timelines.
- Direct and coach resource managers to ensure that employee related activities (including talent acquisition, training, career development, performance management (IPM) and compensation) etc. are completed. Resource Managers and direct reports may be globally distributed, and in the matrix, environment may support resources from other product areas.
- Foster a broad understanding of the business within the application team, working with the business (typically senior management) to identify opportunities and develop the supporting business case/IT Demand based on IT capabilities and opportunities. Articulate and present the best and efficient solutions. Maintain the diagrams of the supported systems.
- Provide Project Management oversight. Participate on Steering Committees and provide guidance of other project roles such as validation and design lead.
- Provide technical guidance and consider industry trends and future requirements as defined in the application roadmap. Maintain a working knowledge of current technologies and best practices related to the functional application area. Research and implement industry standards including new technology, new tools and methodology.
- Manage specific cost centers, participate in the annual budgeting process (opex and capex), provide periodic forecasts, and manage expenses. Work with the management team to develop and control the budget related to this role.
- Manage the vendor relationship including selection, negotiating, establishing service levels (SLAs), monitor and reviewing performance and contract management for main IT vendors. Work with managed service providers to get best out of the partnership.
- Help manage and full SDLC of the Global Donor Management System Applications, which include the following: Starlims, BTS, Electronic Temperature Monitoring, ADIMS, and Lissy.
Your Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; educational concentration in IT, science or engineering is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in IT within applicable function that directly aligns with the responsibilities for this position, preferred 2+ years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience including experience influencing indirect support.

- Compose materials such as detailed reports, work-related manuals, publications to limited scope or impact, and/or to make presentations outside the immediate work area.
- Overnight travel required up to 10% of the time.
