We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Cloud Migration Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for migrating existing applications from on-premises Windows servers to our Azure private cloud. This role requires extensive experience in Azure engineering, including hands-on practice with Terraform for infrastructure as code deployments, and the ability to translate existing solutions into efficient cloud-based architectures.
This role is one out of two open positions suited for a talented cloud system or application engineer who wants to join the energy industry, is keen to learn and with this will have direct business impact.
Depending on your skills, interests, and experience, you will shape the role to a certain extent between engineering and project management.
What you will do:
- Join a dedicated team managing critical software applications related to Energy Trading.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute the migration of on-premises applications to Azure private cloud.
- Collaborate with product owners, where your expertise is key in defining and translating the existing on-premises infrastructures into cloud-based architectures.
- Maintain close collaboration with Infrastructure cloud engineers around Terraform code deployments and security guidelines
- Take ownership for the deployment of Azure DEV, UAT and PROD infrastructure for various critical applications, ensuring a seamless migration experience.
What you bring & who you are:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, engineering, economics, or a completed apprenticeship with experience in Azure system engineering.
- Proven experience in Azure engineering or cloud migration projects.
- Hands-on coding practice, ideally with Terraform for deploying infrastructure as code
- In-depth knowledge of Windows server environments and application management.
- Understanding of software development best practices and methodologies are an advantage.
- Relevant certifications in Azure and Terraform are a plus.
- Interest in the energy sector and/or in trading are a plus.
- Project management skills are beneficial.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong team player.
- Proficiency in English and German is mandatory.

We collaborate closely with business stakeholders, IT architects, infrastructure specialists and vendors to get the most business value out of our IT applications.
