AXA XL Insurance is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Underwriter to join our team. This role requires in-depth knowledge and expertise in underwriting large and complex multinational liability programs, managing a specialized portfolio, and developing strategic relationships with brokers and clients. The Executive Underwriter will play a critical role in shaping the underwriting strategy, ensuring profitability, and contributing to the company's growth objectives.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
· Risk Assessment: Evaluate, underwrite, and price multinational liability programs within appetite, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and industry standards.
· Portfolio Management: Develop and manage a specialized portfolio, focusing on achieving profitability and growth targets while maintaining an appropriate risk balance.
· Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, emerging risks, and opportunities, using these insights to inform underwriting decisions and strategies.
· Relationship Management: Establish and maintain outstanding relationships with brokers, clients, and key stakeholders to facilitate business development, negotiate terms, and ensure client satisfaction.
· Policy Development: Collaborate with underwriting teams and other departments to develop and refine policy wordings, coverage terms, and pricing structures tailored to complex risks.
· Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and execution of underwriting strategies, aligning with overall business objectives and market conditions.
· Mentorship and Training: Provide expert guidance, mentorship, and training to junior underwriters, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
· Compliance and Governance: Ensure all underwriting activities adhere to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices.
· Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed underwriting reports, portfolio reviews, and documentation to support decision-making and provide insights to senior management.
· Innovation: Identify and implement innovative underwriting practices, tools, and technologies to enhance efficiency and competitive advantage.
You will report to the Head of Multinational Casualty.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
Required Skills and Abilities:
· Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPCU, ARM) are highly desirable.
· Extensive experience in underwriting and a robust understanding of insurance principles and regulations.
· The ability to travel a minimum of 15% of the time is anticipated.

The U.S. pay range for this position is $155,500 - $233,000. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience, and location. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues’ pay.
