Software engineer (80-100%)
To start work immediately or at a later date by agreement.
We are looking for you to support our Comfone Engine team in Bern.
Your main tasks
- Develop scalable backend solutions for large-scale data processing
- Engage in the full life-cycle application development, including user requirements, specifications, design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and maintenance
- Implement high-quality, reusable, and well-tested software solutions using object-oriented programming languages such as Java
Your ideal profile
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or a related field, or a completed apprenticeship in computer science with a Swiss Federal Certificate of Competence
- Professional Experience: 2-6 years of experience in backend development, particularly in Java
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming languages (Java preferred)
- Proficiency in testing frameworks like JUnit
- Knowledge of database management systems is essential, familiarity with MongoDB is a plus
- Familiarity with Spring Boot, Kafka, and Flink is a plus
- Experience with Big Data and large-scale data processing is highly valued
- You are proactive, take responsibility, and show initiative in driving improvements and optimizations
- English proficiency in both verbal and written communication. Other languages are a plus
- Swiss or EU/EFTA citizen (with a work permit B or C)
