The Forest Dynamics research unit, which investigates the effects of environmental changes in forest ecosystems, is looking for an experienced and communicative person to join the Ecosystem Ecology group for a fixed-term period of one year as a
You will be responsible for planning and carrying out experiments together with a PhD student in the SNF-funded project “Linking carbon source-sink dynamics to autumn phenology: Predicting tree growth rhythms in temperature and boreal forests”. Your responsibilities comprise logistical planning and ordering of materials, statistical design of the experiment, various ecophysiological measurements (photosynthesis, carbohydrates) and plant harvesting. In addition, you will be included in data analysis.
You have a vocational education as a laboratory technician or a university degree in environmental science, biology, or a comparable topic. You have a proficient command of written and spoken English, are able to work in a structured, efficient and independent manner, and have a high level of team spirit. Furthermore, you have a good level of fitness to carry out field work in remote locations. We offer an international team and strong collaboration with ETH and international institutions.
